Touching hearts - Flora Heart Heroes competition announces shortlist

This year Flora wanted to do something to recognise and reward some of the amazing and inspirational women who participate in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon each year. We never expected to be so overwhelmed by the passion, commitment and strength of character that so many of you process in overcoming adversity and achieving your goals.

With almost 70 applications received, the judging panel were humbled by the experience of having to select this shortlist from so many truly worthy Flora Heart Heroes.

Niamh Lennon, Brand Manager with Flora, commented;

“I wish to personally thank every single person who took the time to send in an application and all of the amazing ladies who were nominated deserve to be recognised for their achievements. The three ladies that the judging panel have selected for the public to vote on represent the very best of what this event is all about, Irish women coming together to support each other and others while getting heart healthy and fit.”

From today, we are asking the public vote on your Flora Women’s Mini Marathon, Flora Heart Hero 2010, at www.floraheartheroes.com. Voting closes on June 4^th and on race day, we will present the overall Flora Heart Hero 2010 with a cheque for €1000 for their charity and the two runners-up will each receive a cheque for €500 each.
