Vote for your Flora Heart Hero

Why do you take part in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon? Mandy is taking part in the marathon because she can!!! She is in good health now and wants to give something back. Mandy was diagnosed 4 yrs ago with a tumour on her leg and after chemo failed she had her leg amputated above the knee. She wants to give something back for all the support she received when she needed to raise funds for a motorised limb.

What makes you a Flora Heart Hero? I believe that Mandy is a Flora Heart Hero. She has only one leg but yet she does so much training and is so determined to walk as far as she possibly can. She has two young children and still finds the time to help others. She is doing this marathon for my daughter (5) who was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma (cancer). Robyn is now in remission and doing well. She has an extremely high chance of relapse. If the cancer was to return we would have to look elsewhere for treatment and treatment in the US can cost hundreds of thousands. Mandy is trying her very best to get sponsors and raise as much money as she possibly can. She is an inspiration to all of the girls who are doing the marathon and to her family. I truly hope you chose Mandy as this year’s flora heart hero. It would really show her how this means to us all. She’s the best regardless of whether she's chosen or not.
